
Helena Wright
Policy Director at the Farm Animal Investment Risk and Return (FAIRR) Initiative
Helena Wright is a British agricultural economist and the Policy Director at the Farm Animal Investment Risk and Return (FAIRR) Initiative. She is a leading expert on the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities of intensive animal agriculture. Wright has worked on sustainable animal agriculture for over 10 years, and has held positions at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), E3G, and the UK Government. She is a graduate of Imperial College London and holds a PhD in agricultural economics.
At FAIRR, Wright leads the organization's work on engaging with governments, regulators, investors, and industry to promote sustainable animal agriculture. She is also a member of the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, the Sustainable Food Policy Alliance, the International Society of Animal Science, and the European Association of Agricultural Economists.
She is a regular speaker at conferences and events on sustainable food systems, and is a strong advocate for transparency and accountability in the food system. Wright is a recipient of the 2022 Rising Star Award from the Sustainable Food Systems Alliance.
