Dr Arthur P.J. Mol is currently Rector Magnificus and Vice-president at Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands, and professor in environmental policy at the same institution. He has held visiting professorships at Renmin University and Tsinghua University (China), Chiba University (Japan) and National University of Malaysia (Malaysia). He lectured and published widely on environmental and food governance, globalization, ecological modernization, Southeast and East Asia, sustainable production and consumption, and sustainable and smart cities. He has been editor of Environmental Politics, of the book series News Horizons in Environmental Governance (EE), and President of the Research Committee Environment and Society of the International sociological Association. He graduated 51 PhD students, and still supervises 8 PhD candidates.
